SFC Response to the Government Inquiry into “Harmful” Internet Content
Daniel Dyball,
Committee Specialist
Media and Sport Committee
House of Commons
7 Millbank
London SW1P 3JA.

28th January 2008

Dear Mr Dyball,

re HARMFUL CONTENT ON THE INTERNET AND IN VIDEO GAMES

The Sexual Freedom Coalition is concerned with the sexual freedom of consenting adults and does not feel it is necessary for the government to protect consenting adults from viewing extreme pornography, or downloading it.

In particular, there are many lonely people who rely on pornography on the Internet. They may be isolated through death of spouse, disability or social phobia. They do no deserve to have their access to pleasure cut off by the government. This would be unnecessary and cruel.

I hope your committee will consider this before making your decision.

Very best wishes,

Dr Tuppy Owens
Chair
Sexual Freedom Coalition
