Jacqui Smith porn competition
Jacqui Smith, Home Secretary responsible for banning extreme pornography and now trying to ban the buying of sex, plus more clamp-downs on brothels and kerb crawling, using dodgy stats and lies fed to her by the fundamentalist feminists, has now been exposed as someone who actually enjoys porn herself.
We are running a competition for the best guess at the titles of the two films her husband ordered with tax payer's money. You have our permission to be as brutal as you like. The winner will receive three free tickets to the next Night of the Senses, Easter 2010.
The ten best will be displayed on this site, where you can be anonymous or not.
Send your two titles to mail@sfc.org.uk.

Policing and Crime Bill 2008
The Policing and Crime Bill aims to criminalise paying for sexual services of a sex worker who is trafficked and/or controlled. It includes paying for such services abroad as well as in Britain. It also aims to further criminalise kerb crawling and street prostitution, restrict lap dancing and other sex encounter venues, and make it easier for the police to close down brothels.

The Government has now pledged to Listen to Its People
Perhaps it will listen to People who want Sexual Freedom?
"There has been masses of research, more than at any time in history, the trouble is that the government ignores most of it!
Much to our intense frustration." - Helen Self

Not giving up yet: Calling for a Select Committee
Baroness Howe and others in both the House of Commons and the House of Lords are calling for a Select Committee on new media and violence. This has growing momentum.
They are asking us to do all we can outside the House to match the efforts inside the House. This means writing letters as organisations and asking our readers/members to do the same.
Unfortunately, I can't write templates for you but there is lots of discussion on www.seenoevil.org.uk and www.informedconsent.co.uk about this and other attempts to keep this in the media and out of the courts.
Please support these efforts in whatever way you can.

Demo of Disabled People challenging The Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill
The Demonstration on Tuesday 26th February 2008 on Westminster Bridge
was an enormous success, with 50 people along the south side of the
bridge, many of them in wheelchairs. There were cameras galore, with a
TV documentary team and journalists fighting to interview the
demonstrators. Placards included "Don't Disable My Libido" and "It's
Hard Enough as it Is". Women wearing Gordon Brown masks carried
placards saying "Listen To The Clients" and "We will do everything in
our power that...the needs of disabled people are properly recognised"
Gordon Brown PMQs 23-01-07. The demonstrators were joined by the SFC
Board, the English Collective of Prostitutes and the International
Union of Sex Workers, carrying red umbrellas.
Demonstrators were treated to tea in the Marriott afterwards, where we
heard that all clauses relating to prostitution had been dropped from
the Bill.
We continue our campaign to force out the section banning extreme
pornography from the Bill.

Join Our Demo of Disabled People
On 9th February 2008, disabled Outsiders members at the London Club Lunch were invited to join in a discussion on the Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill, and an overwhelming majority agreed. We sat round a table and discuss the consequences for disabled people if the Bill were made Law, and it became illegal to pay for sex and download and possess extreme pornography.
Unanimously, we agreed to hold a demonstration, and this was fixed for Tuesday 26th February 2.30-4.30 on Westminster Bridge. The following suggestions were also agreed:
- We approach the Anne McGuire, Parliamentary Under Secretary (Disabled People) with Ministerial Responsibilities of Disability legislation and Equality and Human Rights Commission, and also David Blunkett, asking for their support.
- A small delegation of disabled people seek a private consultation with those who are responsible for pushing the Bill through: Harriet Harman (Minister responsible for Equality!), Barbara Follet, Vera Baird and Maria Eagle (Ex-Minister for Disability!).
- We gather a page of testimonies by people who sell sex or work in and/or produce extreme pornography to prove that they do so of their own free will (and hardly any, are ever forced). Such workers are welcome on the demo and sex workers will carry the traditional red umbrella.
- Our demonstration be dignified and serious, with police permission, and clever placards.
- We will warm up afterwards with a cup of tea in The Marriott next door
- Press releases will be sent to the disability and general media

EMERGENCY ALERT - Disabled People face sex cut-backs Ariana Chevalier, Sex Worker of the Year 2007 has approached her MP to discuss the Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill, which was rushed through the House of Commons and is now with the House of Lords.
This Bill sets out to criminalise people who hire sex workers, and people who download extreme pornography. Plus, more sex workers would end up in prison.
Ariana and I are particularly concerned with the rights of disabled people, who may have limited sexual opportunities and need sex workers and pornography for their mental health. We are planning a demo of disabled people chained to the railings near the House of Commons - and if you know anyone who wants to join in - please put them in touch.

SFC REPLY TO GOVERNMENT INQUIRY INTO "HARMFUL" INTERNET CONTENT
On 5th December 2007, the Government launched an inquiry into "Harmful" Internet Content, and seeks responses from individuals and organisations,
See the details here
Whilst not directly related to the extreme porn law, it does explicitly say "content that exhibits extreme pornography or violence" (yet they don't seem to care about porn in general).
This follows on from the Byron review which focused on children; this inquiry is concerned about supposed risks to adults.
